Now here’s a question, do you like receiving gifts? I can hear you shouting in the background, yessss!!
So now why don’t you walk into your garden and say to your plants, ‘It’s about time I treated you as well!’
What can I treat my plants with?
Coffee grounds of course! As it has quite a few nutrients which your plants will love and thank you for it by giving your garden beautiful blooms and green foliage.
Let me show you how…
If you’re a coffee drinker like me, don’t throw away your leftovers, save it!
If you’re not a coffee lover then simply ask at any Starbucks, it’s a national policy that they give away spent coffee grounds free for use in gardens.
Once you’ve got your coffee grounds, you can add it directly to the soil and mix well – it will balance the ph in your soil (which means the alkalinity and acidity are well balanced). Also try sprinkling lightly on top.
If it’s easier for you, simply add the coffee grounds to your compost heap (which probably already consists of your leftover kitchen waste) – this will create a cheap rich fertilizer which is the best gift for your plants!
Also there’s third way of doing this, take a watering can, fill it with water and add coffee grounds to it. Let it stand for a few days then water the roots and the leaves with it.
And finally…
Here’s some good news for you but bad news for those slimy creatures!
Just sprinkle coffee grounds around your plants and watch the dreaded slugs and snails turn around in disgust and slide away, never to return!! Now you’re free to enjoy your beautiful garden and plants, and it’s all thanks to coffee grounds!
What other uses have you found for your leftover coffee grounds? Let me know in the comments below!
